Jeff Ward

Jeff Ward has led the practice of BMZG for many years. In 2017, Jeff received Dharma transmission as an independent lay Zen Buddhist teacher within the Diamond Sangha tradition from Subhana Bazarghi (http://subhana.com.au) and Paul Maloney, both from the Sydney Zen Centre (http://szc.org.au).

Jeff began his Buddhist practice in the mid-1970s in Sydney at Wat Buddharangsee in Stanmore, Sydney. He took up Zen practice while living in Tokyo in the mid-1980s. After returning to Australia he began practicing with the Sydney Zen Centre and continued his Zen training, attending retreats over the subsequent two decades. Jeff currently continues to practice with Jeff Shore (https://beingwithoutself.org) in Kyoto.

Jeff moved from Sydney to Canberra in 1994. Jeff worked for many years as a clinical psychologist. He is now retired from clinical practice but continues to provide clinical supervision and is a current faculty member of the Australian Association of Buddhist Counsellors and Psychotherapists (https://www.aabcap.org)
